How To Booklet

For this assignment, we were told to make a booklet that would help someone do the topic we chose.

For this project, while most of my classmates chose to create the standard “How To”–style booklet, I decided to take a different approach. Instead of following the traditional format, I wanted to design something more meaningful and connected to one of my biggest passions: marching band. Because marching band has played such an important role in my life, it felt natural to create a booklet that reflected the experience, the culture, and the challenges that come with it.

I structured my booklet as a survival guide, inspired by the handbook we receive at the beginning of each season. However, rather than simply repeating the rules or basics, I expanded on what it truly takes to make it through a season—physically, mentally, and as part of a team. My goal was to blend practical advice with humor, encouragement, and real insight that only someone who has lived the marching band lifestyle would understand.

In developing this guide, I included topics such as proper rehearsal etiquette, what essentials to pack, how to survive long practices in the heat, and the importance of teamwork and discipline. I also incorporated personal experiences and tips that I’ve learned over the years, giving the guide a more authentic and relatable tone.
