For this assignment, we were each randomly given a movie genre and challenged to create a fully developed design for a Blockbuster-style poster. 

For my poster, I drew inspiration from the 2024 horror film The Strangers: Chapter 1. The movie follows a couple who travel out of town to celebrate their anniversary. At first, everything seems peaceful when they meet a seemingly friendly family who owns the Airbnb where they are staying. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that this family is hiding something far more sinister. That unsettling shift from comfort to fear was something I wanted to capture visually in my design.

This project also served as our introduction to Photoshop, and my poster was created almost entirely within the program. I experimented with layering, lighting effects, color grading, and image manipulation to create a sense of tension and mystery. Working in Photoshop allowed me to learn how small adjustments—like shadow intensity, contrast, or texture—can completely change the atmosphere of a piece.
